Job title: Lifeguard (Red Cross Certified)
About the Role The Lifeguard will monitor pool safety and enforce Oberlin College facility protocols in conjunction with American Red Cross standards. This on-campus role supports safe swimming and patron wellbeing, responding to emergencies as needed and ensuring a welcoming, rule-based environment.
What You'll Do
- Monitor pool activity to ensure safety and compliance with Red Cross standards and Oberlin policies.
- Enforce pool rules, prevent hazards, and supervise swimmers.
- Respond to emergencies with CPR/First Aid/AED as trained, providing appropriate care until further help arrives.
- Maintain pool and facility equipment to support safe operation.
- Provide courteous customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
What We're Looking For
- Red Cross Certified Lifeguard with CPR/First Aid/AED.
- Currently enrolled Oberlin College student.
- Ability to stay alert, respond quickly, and work well in a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $14.00
- Part-time, on-campus position.
