About this role
Job title: Life Sciences Supply Chain & Operations – Supply Chain Planning Manager
About the Role Accenture's Life Sciences Supply Chain & Operations practice seeks a skilled Life Sciences Supply Chain & Operations professional to help biopharma and med tech clients implement and optimize end-to-end planning across their supply networks. You will lead IBP, demand planning, supply planning, production scheduling, and inventory management to ensure reliable product availability while navigating GMP-compliant, patient-centric supply chains.
What You'll Do
- Lead the full IBP cycle — including demand review, supply review, portfolio review, and executive S&OP — integrating commercial, clinical, regulatory, and operations inputs to drive aligned decision-making.
- Design and implement Integrated Planning Strategy (IBP/S&OP) tailored to life sciences environments, accounting for regulatory release cycles, CMO/CDMO networks, and portfolio dynamics.
- Develop demand and supply planning processes that account for patient-based forecasting, launch ramps, LOE, batch yield variability, QA release buffers, and lead-time dynamics with CMOs/CDMOs.
- Translate IBP decisions into short-horizon execution plans (S&OE), ensuring production scheduling, batch sequencing, CMO order management, and serialization-compliant logistics align with near-term demand.
- Develop multi-echelon inventory strategies considering shelf life, retest dating, cold chain storage, and regulatory hold periods while balancing service levels and working capital.
- Identify and implement process improvements and digital enablement, including AI-enabled planning tools, digital twins, and advanced analytics.
- Define and track life sciences KPIs (OTIF, forecast accuracy, batch cycle time, on-time delivery, inventory turns) and drive continuous improvement.
- Design governance and planning operating models that integrate commercial, medical affairs, regulatory, quality, and operations.
- Build and sustain relationships with executive leadership, commercial teams, supply chain, quality, and regulatory affairs to align on planning priorities and communicate performance outcomes.
- Proactively identify supply chain risks (CMO/CDMO capacity, API disruption, regulatory holds, cold chain) and develop mitigation strategies to protect patient supply continuity.
- Provide data-driven insights through advanced reporting and analytics to inform leadership on supply strategy, capacity investment, and network configuration.
What We're Looking For
- Experience leading Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and S&OP in life sciences or regulated manufacturing.
- Deep understanding of GMP/compliance, external manufacturing dynamics (CMO/CDMO networks), and regulatory release cycles.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking with a track record of data-driven decision making.
- Ability to translate strategy into execution: demand forecasting, capacity planning, and production scheduling.
- Excellent stakeholder management and ability to partner with executive leadership across commercial, regulatory, quality, and operations.
- Knowledge of regulatory environment, product lifecycle complexity, and cold chain/logistics considerations.
