About the Role Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurse (Medical) for Bayside State Prison, located in Leesburg, NJ. The primary purpose of this position is to skillfully administer total patient care based on the individualized needs of assigned patients and families, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, in a correctional health setting.
What You'll Do
- Provide total patient care for inmates under RN supervision, delivering safe and effective nursing services.
- Administer medications and perform treatments and procedures within established guidelines.
- Monitor patient status, document care, and communicate changes to the RN and health care team.
- Maintain safety and security in a correctional health environment, adhering to facility policies and procedures.
- Assist with care planning and patient education as appropriate.
What We're Looking For
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed in New Jersey.
- Per Diem availability and the ability to cover shifts as needed.
- Capacity to work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Strong clinical nursing skills and competence with standard nursing procedures.
- Good communication, documentation, and teamwork in a correctional health setting.
