About the Role
Under the direction of the Director and/or Nurse Manager, the Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) provides direct and indirect patient care to a group of patients across the Med/Surg units, under the guidance of the registered nurse. The role focuses on assisting with activities of daily living, basic clinical tasks, and ensuring safe, clean care environments.
What You'll Do
- Perform activities of daily living and personal care needs under the guidance and supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- Perform technical skills and procedures relating to physical, mental health and social needs of patients under the guidance and supervision of the RN.
- Document care provided and report observations of patients' physical, social and mental status and basic patient data collected.
- Demonstrate adherence to safe patient handling policy and time management.
- Maintain the patient care areas to ensure cleanliness, safety and supplies of material and equipment.
- Receive delegated work adhering to the five rights of delegation.
- Perform job specific requirements and other duties as assigned.
- Serve as a preceptor for new employees.
What We're Looking For
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; required: proof of LNA education certificate and final report of written and clinical competency testing as required by the NH Board of Nursing.
- Certification & Licensure: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Licensure: Current NH LNA license.
- Experience: Ability to work as a member of a team.
