About the Role The Head of Production Planning (m/f/d) at ANDRITZ in Graz leads the manufacturing planning and collaborates with production, purchasing, design, and order processing to ensure timely, cost-efficient delivery and quality of our solutions for key industries. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on optimization of processes and ERP/PPS systems.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage the manufacturing planning and work preparation teams (f/h/d) and ensure on-time, on-budget, and quality production plans
- Create, maintain, and optimize work plans, bill of materials, and manufacturing documentation
- Perform capacity and resource planning in close alignment with production, procurement, design, and order processing
- Ensure material availability and support production control; analyze and improve manufacturing and planning processes (KVP/Lean/Standardization)
- Support investment, make-or-buy, and manufacturing depth decisions; drive ERP/PPS and KPI system development
- Responsible for costing and bid processes for manufactured goods
- Coordinate cross-departmentally under time and cost pressure; demonstrate hands-on entrepreneurial mindset
- Occasional travel to other sites, suppliers, or trade shows; strong German and English language skills required
What We're Looking For
- Completed technical or economic education (TU, FH, HTL or equivalent) in Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, Maschinenbau, Produktionstechnik or related field
- Several years of experience in production planning/work preparation, ideally in machinery or plant construction
- Demonstrated leadership experience in an industrial environment
- Very good understanding of manufacturing processes, production methods, and workflows
- Proficiency with ERP/PPS systems and MS Office
- Analytical, structured and solution-oriented work style
- Assertiveness, communication skills, and teamwork; cross-functional coordination under time and cost pressure
- High sense of responsibility and resilience; entrepreneurial thinking and hands-on mentality
- Fluency in German; good English skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally
