Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute legal strategies for the recovery of non-performing loans (NPLs) and delinquent accounts Draft and review demand letters, legal notices, agreements, and other legal documentation.
- Liaise with law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, and external solicitors on legal and recovery matters. Represent the company in legal proceedings or coordinate external counsel where required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, CBN regulations, AML/CFT requirements, and data protection standards.
- Manage regulatory filings, internal compliance reviews, and KYC-related legal processes.
- Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders on business transactions, contracts, and regulatory matters.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and recommend actions to mitigate organizational risk.
Requirements

LL.B and B.L. (Called to the Nigerian Bar).

3-7 years' experience in legal practice, preferably within a bank, fintech, or financial institution.

Strong knowledge of commercial law, debt recovery, litigation, and financial services regulation.

Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
