Petrok Engineering Services Limited is recruiting on behalf of its client, for the position of Legal Counsel in Lagos, Nigeria.
The successful candidate will provide legal support to the company's oil and gas exploration and production operations, while supporting transaction structuring, contracts, negotiations, financing, litigation management and regulatory compliance.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or Juris Doctor degree.
- Nigerian Law School qualification and membership of the Nigerian Bar Association.
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant legal experience in a producing oil and gas exploration and production company.
- Strong experience in the oil and gas sector and Nigerian legal system.
- Proven experience in contract drafting/review, transaction structuring and commercial negotiations.
- Knowledge of E&P operations and related legal matters.
- Experience in debt/equity financing and capital markets transactions is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of corporate law in Nigeria, UK and US.
- Excellent communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality and professional judgement.
- Prior experience in a law firm and/or indigenous E&P company will be an advantage.
