About the Role The Legal Counsel will provide strategic, tactical, and solutions-oriented legal support to Beckman Coulter Life Sciences’ global businesses, focusing on commercial operations and driving growth. The role partners with business leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact legal and compliance guidance while balancing legal risk with business objectives. What You'll Do
- Lead the review, drafting, and negotiation of complex global commercial agreements across sales, procurement, distribution, SaaS, licensing, and joint development.
- Provide pragmatic legal counsel on commercial matters, compliance, and data privacy; balance legal risk with business objectives.
- Drive legal operations excellence by enhancing processes, maintaining global contract templates, and standardizing policies/procedures.
- Support enterprise priorities including M&A and cross-functional initiatives; partner with IP, regulatory, compliance, and privacy teams; contribute to litigation or regulatory matters as needed.
- Build strong partnerships across Beckman Coulter Life Sciences and the broader Danaher legal network; lead initiatives and foster continuous improvement. What We're Looking For
- 3+ years as a licensed U.S. attorney with experience in a nationally recognized law firm and in-house (life sciences preferred); global experience a plus.
- Excellent academic credentials and active U.S. Bar membership in good standing.
- Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking, including mentoring/developing others and thoughtful team building.
- Substantial deal and negotiation experience with leadership on executed transactions (e.g., partnerships, collaborations, licensing, M&A, research agreements).
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and stakeholders; experience leveraging AI tools/technologies to improve legal processes and adapt to AI-enabled workflows.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% globally. Nice to Have

- Salary range: $120,000-$150,000 per year; eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
