Job title: LED Lighting Test Engineer

About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented LED Lighting Test Engineer to join our product development team. You will develop and execute test plans for LED lighting products, validate performance against industry standards, and support qualification and regulatory testing. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, and compliance teams to ensure products meet performance, reliability, safety, and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do

• Develop, execute, and document test plans for LED luminaires, drivers, and lighting control systems.
• Perform photometric, electrical, thermal, environmental, and reliability testing.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including integrating spheres, goniophotometers, spectroradiometers, power analyzers, and environmental chambers.
• Analyze test data and prepare detailed technical reports.
• Investigate product failures and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Verify compliance with applicable industry and regulatory standards such as SAE, FMVSS, KKK, NFPA 1900, CISPR 25, UL, CE.
• Collaborate with design engineers to validate product performance throughout the development cycle.
• Support third-party certification and regulatory testing activities.
• Develop automated test procedures and data acquisition systems when applicable.
• Ensure laboratory safety, calibration, and equipment maintenance requirements are met.
• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality and testing efficiency.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in product testing, validation, or quality engineering.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as SAE, FMVSS, KKK, NFPA 1900, CISPR 25, UL, CE.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
• Experience with LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, or similar test automation software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail; cross-functional collaboration; time management; continuous improvement mindset.
• Knowledge of LED lighting systems, drivers, optics, and thermal management.
• Experience with electrical and photometric measurement techniques.
• Knowledge of lighting controls, dimming technologies, and smart lighting systems preferred.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE) preferred.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems preferred.
