About the Role Regent University’s School of Law is seeking to fill a full-time, non-tenured Lecturer position in the legal writing program. The Lecturer will teach first-year legal writing and upper-level writing courses at the Virginia Beach campus, with potential for transition to a tenure-track position in the future. The role carries full faculty voting rights and supports faith-based academic excellence. What You'll Do
- Teach first-year legal writing and upper-level advanced writing courses in the legal writing program.
- Contribute to the first-year program divided into two 3-credit courses overseen by the faculty director of legal writing; support objectives in the first semester (objective analysis, research, and writing) and second semester (persuasive writing and oral advocacy).
- Participate in faculty meetings, exercise faculty voting rights, and engage in ongoing scholarship and professional development; demonstrate facility with online instructional technology.
- Embrace Regent’s identity and mission statements and subscribe to a statement of Christian faith; model Christ-centered teaching and learning.
- Submit CV, cover letter, and unofficial transcripts as part of the application; be prepared for possible transition to a tenure-track position depending on qualifications and interest. What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor (JD) required.
- Previous work experience, including appellate writing, strongly preferred.
- Ability to teach first-year legal writing and upper-level advanced writing courses.
- Dedication to Christ-centered teaching and learning; record of or potential for academic scholarship; facility with online instructional technology.
- Willingness to embrace the College and University Identity and Mission statements and subscribe to a statement of Christian faith. Nice to Have
