The Federal College of Education, Yola was established in 1974, as a middle level Teacher Training Institute. Hitherto, it was known as Federal advanced Teacher's College, (FATC) Yola. However, actual academic activities commenced during the 1975/76 session, with a total of one hundred and fifty (150) students under the leadership of the Pioneer Principal.

Requirements: Candidate for position of Lecturer I must possess Master's Degree in the relevant field(s) with at least seven (7) years' teaching and research experience. Other requirements include evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, evidence of Registration with TRCN, demonstration of good knowledge of computer, successful external assessment, and evidence of community service.
