Job title: Leave Benefits Coordinator - Birmingham, AL

About the Role The Leave Benefits Coordinator provides leave of absence support to the client’s HR department and employees, operating onsite at Children’s of Alabama with potential remote assignments as needed. You will serve as a primary resource for employees and HR, coordinating administrative processes related to leave and acting as a liaison among the client, BCInsourcing, and benefit carriers.

What You'll Do

  • Develops a detailed understanding of all employer-sponsored benefit plans and leave programs; responds to employee and carrier inquiries in a timely manner; investigates and resolves leave-related concerns; supports leave of absence email inbox and/or contact center as assigned; acts as liaison between the client’s HR department, BCInsourcing, and benefit carriers.
  • Completes various administrative leave-related duties, including processing of leave of absence and return-to-work requests; auditing leave data; billing administration; and leave and disability claim support.
  • Maintains regular attendance; may work extended hours, including evenings and weekends during open enrollment or special projects to meet client needs.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the client and BCInsourcing.

What We're Looking For

  • REQUIRED: High School Diploma/GED; intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel; polished verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • REQUIRED: Professional experience delivering superior customer service while multi-tasking and meeting deadlines.
  • REQUIRED: Self-motivation and result-driven mindset with little supervision; ability to follow step-by-step processes using deductive reasoning to produce positive outcomes.
  • REQUIRED: Strong knowledge of leave of absence benefits and regulations.
  • PREFERRED: Strong knowledge of benefit insurance products (core and/or voluntary).
  • PREFERRED: FMLA and local/federal leave law knowledge.
  • PREFERRED: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The starting hourly pay range for this position is $24.03 – $28.84 per hour.
