The Role

This will be a student learner position. The student will be paired with a tenured machine tool operator to be trained in the operation of machine tools such as boring mills and lathes.

Requirements

Below is a list of areas and tasks that the student will be trained in.
Safety protocol and culture while being in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Drawing interpretation.
Loading of material into the machine with a crane positions & clamp.
Alignment of workpiece and spindle manually.
Setting readout dials to position, inserting tool, and cycle activation.
Changing of tooling.
Checking of first piece.
Mill operation
Selection of proper speed and setup.
Unloading of finished pieces.
Reporting method of any errors, defective material, or faulty equipment.
Grinding of tools if required.
Machine Lubrication.
Maintaining a clean and orderly area.

Education and Experience

Currently enrolled in vocational education.
