About the Role Learn to Swim Coordinator under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager or designated supervisor, is responsible for the supervision of learn to swim instructors, activities, and facilities during their scheduled shift. This position focuses on delivering excellent customer service, safety, and an outstanding member experience, with time split between supervising, planning, implementing, guarding, instructing, and administrative work. What You'll Do
- Oversee daily operations of aquatics programming and facilities, including staff, participants, and equipment.
- Supervise swim instructor staff including scheduling based on program and activity needs.
- Perform all swim instructor duties and model a proactive approach to safety and risk management; serve as an instructor as needed.
- Assist in hiring, training, orienting, scheduling, and appraising swim instructors.
- Support on-call procedures and staff schedules.
- Plan and support in-service trainings for Aquatics and Learn to Swim staff in cooperation with the Aquatics and Pool Manager.
- Ensure swim instructors are fully competent in safety, curriculum, and communication variables.
- Inventory and communicate needs for supplies or equipment to the Aquatics and Pool Manager.
- Respond to customer and staff inquiries and direct concerns to appropriate authorities when needed. What We're Looking For
- Red Cross lifeguard certification is required; Water Safety Instructor (WSI) preferred.
- High school diploma.
- 3 years related experience.
- 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong customer service, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00am-11:00am and/or 5:00pm-7:00pm. Nice to Have
- Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification (preferred).
- Prior experience in aquatics supervision. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $17-$20 per hour.
