Job title: Lead Technician - Electrical Systems
About the Role As a subject matter expert and team leader, you will troubleshoot and oversee the integration of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on state-of-the-art fire rescue vehicles. You will mentor teammates, support production planning, and lead system verification from build through testing.
What You'll Do
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems (complex wiring, controls); mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Lead testing, validation, and final system verification
- Serve as a technical advisor to supervisors
- Assist in production planning: schedule, review print packages, BOMs, shop orders; scrub discrepancies; optimize workflows
- Train and mentor new and transferred employees; lead by example in safety, quality, work ethic; support team development
- Review and scrub print packages and BOMs; identify and correct discrepancies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Expert-level understanding of electrical systems (12V DC / 110V AC), schematics and system integration
- Hydraulic systems experience strongly preferred; pneumatic systems also relevant
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic ability; ability to independently resolve highly complex issues; root cause analysis; drive continuous improvement
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted; capable of leading and mentoring
- Strong teamwork, communication, and leadership
Nice to Have
- Hydraulic systems experience (strongly preferred) and experience with production planning or process improvements
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $16.50 – $26.00 per hour; base pay may vary by knowledge/experience
