About this role

About the Role As the SME of Engineering within the Dentsu ecosystem, you will manage and mentor software teams delivering a combination of applications and systems for end users. You will provide technical leadership across workstreams and drive the platform's technical vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business requirements, security, and standards. What You'll Do

  • Lead and line-manage a team of Engineering Leads, providing 1:1 coaching and development planning
  • Publish, communicate, and maintain the technical vision and roadmap for the Platform Workstream
  • Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Security, DevOps across geographies to deliver secure, reliable, scalable code with CI/CD and Agile practices
  • Work with Solution Architects and Developers in brainstorming and solution design to address technical challenges
  • Drive the team toward agreed outcomes with a clear technical path forward
  • Ensure user experience aligns with product vision and meets acceptance criteria and delivery timelines
  • Guarantee platform services are scalable, resilient, well documented, and easy to use and maintain
  • Promote best practices for diagnostics, debugging, testing, deployment, and production troubleshooting
  • Enable an empowered team model and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and assess potential benefits to the business strategy
  • Ensure solution designs are reviewed effectively and conform to NFRs, Security, and Data Privacy guidelines
  • Implement software engineering best practices (pair programming, clean code, CI/CD, pyramid testing) within an Agile Scrum framework
  • Maintain high standards of code quality and testing practices, including code reviews What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience managing small software teams and mentoring engineers in enterprise web development and services using loosely coupled systems
  • Highly experienced in Agile, Test-Driven Development, and delivering software in an iterative fashion
  • Passion for writing clean, well-crafted code and thriving in an agile environment
  • Ability to write high-quality code across modern JavaScript-based languages and frameworks
  • Experience delivering solutions using microservice architecture with RESTful APIs and frameworks such as Express, NestJS and GraphQL
  • Quick to learn and apply new programming languages, frameworks, and platforms
  • Experience implementing CI/CD and hosting in cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS
  • Working experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Azure environments
  • Strong MERN experience (Mongo, Express, React, Node) with Webpack, TypeScript, GitHub; exposure to Redis, Okta, OpenID is a plus
  • Deep experience with code quality, testing, CI/CD, and package managers such as Jest, Lint, Brigade, and Helm
  • Experience with Kafka, n8n, and event-driven architectures
  • Proven track record leading teams delivering software and platform services
  • Good working knowledge of GraphQL APIs (federation using Wundergraph), ABAC solutions (Symphonic or equivalent), and CMS platforms (Strapi or equivalent) Nice to Have
  • Working knowledge of API gateways (Kong or equivalent), ABAC solutions (Symphonic or equivalent), CMS platforms (Strapi or equivalent)
  • Experience on Developer Portals or documentation relating to shared development services
  • Docker and/or Kubernetes experience
