Lead Systems Technician

About this role

Lead Systems Technician responsible for servicing and/or installing commercial integrated security systems, including Burglar and Fire Alarms, Access Control, and Video. This role requires strong technical aptitude and effective interpersonal skills to deliver secure, reliable systems and to mentor colleagues on job sites.

Install/service integrated systems including burglar, card access, video, and fire alarm systems for commercial and high-end residential applications. Troubleshoot integrated systems to diagnose and resolve issues. Demonstrate proficiency in software and programming for the primary manufacturers used by the branch. Design and deploy projects in concert with local and state building codes and communicate with AHJs. Interact and communicate at all levels of the organization and with external customers; share knowledge, ideas, and solutions. Train and mentor technicians: review work of Entry Level through Level 2 technicians on shared job site and provide training to correct any errors; be responsible for the work done by all technicians on his/her jobs.

Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum 2 years of fire detection and signaling systems experience (burglar, fire alarm, CCTV and access control); 5+ years industry experience preferred. Certification/License: Valid Driver’s License; Fire Alarm License - Preferred; Fire Alarm experience - Required; ESA Certified Alarm Technician Level 2 or equivalent - Preferred; NICET Fire or Video Level 2 - Preferred. Communication: Ability to communicate professionally with diverse individuals and provide superior customer service. Technical: Understands software and programming for the primary manufacturers used by the home branch; ability to decipher/design integrated systems in coordination with local jurisdiction requirements.

Nice to Have: Experience with high-end residential applications. Leadership or mentoring experience.
