About the Role Lead Sterile Processing Technician coordinates daily Sterile Processing Department activities, including decontamination, instrument set assembly, medical device processing, patient care equipment processing, case cart processing, disposal of refuse and distribution of supplies. The role also serves as primary mentor for new technicians, provides continuous training, and acts as a daily liaison between Sterile Processing and Surgical Services, communicating daily issues with OR staff and SPD staff. The position participates in an ongoing departmental quality improvement program and supports leadership by managing processes in the absence of supervisor or manager. What You'll Do
- Coordinate daily activities of the Sterile Processing Department, including decontamination, instrument set assembly, medical device processing, patient care equipment processing, case cart processing, disposal of refuse and distribution of supplies.
- Maintain daily Process, Distribution and Communication Logs and respond to production statistics requests from leadership.
- Serve as primary mentor for new technicians and provide ongoing training for all staff.
- Act as a daily liaison between Sterile Processing and Surgical Services; communicate daily issues with OR staff and SPD staff.
- Participate in ongoing departmental quality improvement through leadership, education, and training of all Sterile Processing Technicians.
- Manage all processes in the absence of the supervisor or manager.
- Promote effective interpersonal and interdepartmental relationships and maintain professional conduct at all times. What We're Looking For
- Education: High school Diploma or GED.
- Certification: Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution CBSPD or CRCST through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association upon hire.
- Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in healthcare sterile processing (or surgical/procedural area).
- Preferred: Two (2) years’ experience as a lead or experience in staff education.
- Skills: Proficiency in Outlook. Nice to Have

- Salary: $21.08 - $31.62 per hour USD.
