About the Role

We are looking for a Lead Specialist, Content Developer to join our English Language Learning team. • Own the delivery of large, multi-level and multi-component projects, managing interconnected content and ensuring consistency and cohesion across components and formats.

  • Proactively identify and resolve content, quality, dependency, and delivery challenges, adapting development approaches to keep work on track.

  • Work closely with Project Managers to provide realistic development lead times, identify dependencies and risks, and develop practical solutions.

  • Brief, review, evaluate, and approve work delivered by authors, external suppliers, and vendors, ensuring clear expectations, quality, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Collaborate across Product, Production, Digital, Assessment, Design, and other functions to solve problems, remove barriers, and enable successful delivery in an international environment.

  • Provide expert guidance to Content Developers, authors, suppliers, and project teams, sharing knowledge and building capability without formal line-management responsibility.

  • Lead the adoption of AI-enabled and agentic workflows, helping the team and external partners use evolving tools and approaches to improve quality, speed, and scalability.

  • Make sound content and delivery decisions independently while communicating progress, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.

Required skills and experience:

  • Significant experience developing English Language Learning courseware across print and digital products, with deep knowledge of ELL/ELT pedagogy and learning experience.

  • Proven ability to independently lead complex, multi-level and multi-component content development projects.

  • Strong editorial judgment and experience briefing, reviewing and approving high-quality educational content.

  • Ability to anticipate and solve content, quality and delivery challenges, including timelines, dependencies and changing requirements.

  • Experience collaborating with Project Managers, authors, external suppliers and multidisciplinary teams in an international environment.

  • Ability to influence, coach and provide expert direction without formal line-management responsibility.

  • A curious and proactive approach to AI-enabled content development, combined with strong communication skills and advanced English proficiency.
