As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing AI-powered systems that enhance accounting workflows through automation, intelligence, and seamless orchestration. The focus is on engineers who can own end-to-end AI systems — from backend services and APIs to LLM-driven workflows in production. What You'll Do

• Design and build the backend for AI-native products focused on accounting research and accounting workflows such as tax filing, tax advisory, and audit.
• Develop and maintain backend services using Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL.
• Design and implement AI orchestration for generative AI agents and workflows.
• Collaborate across functions with AI/ML engineers, frontend developers, product managers, and designers to build robust services; help build core AI interfaces such as Conversations, Workspaces, Grid, and Knowledge Base.
• Own end-to-end AI systems ensuring performance, reliability, and adaptability to real-world use cases. What We're Looking For
• Strong hands-on Python backend experience (FastAPI/Flask, APIs, distributed systems).
• Proven experience in system design and architecture for scalable, production-grade systems.
• Focus on Python, backend engineering, and real-world AI applications.
• Exposure to TypeScript/modern frontend frameworks is helpful but not required.
• Ability to own end-to-end AI systems, from backend services and APIs to LLM-driven workflows in production.
• This is a hybrid role and the interview process may include onsite interactions. Nice to Have
