About the Role The Lead Senior Science Writer translates the latest achievements of Dana-Farber's investigators into engaging donor-facing collateral. This role serves as a key link between oncologists, scientists, fundraisers, and donors, distilling complex research into accessible messages that demonstrate the impact of donor support.
What You'll Do
- Translate cutting-edge cancer research and clinical advances into donor-focused materials and collateral.
- Collaborate with oncologists, scientists, and fundraising teams to identify compelling stories and impact metrics.
- Distill complex data into clear, engaging narratives and visuals for a variety of audiences and channels.
- Support the philanthropy program by developing timely content that communicates the value of gifts and outcomes.
- Ensure accuracy, compliance, and brand consistency across materials.
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience as a senior science writer, preferably in healthcare or cancer research.
- Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, accessible language for a non-scientific audience.
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams of clinicians, researchers, and fundraisers.
- Excellent storytelling, editing, research, and project management abilities.
- Knowledge of donor communications and philanthropy is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting donor communications for large research institutions or academic medical centers.
- Experience with data visualization or working with data-driven impact stories.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $107,100.00 - $113,900.00 per year (USD).
