This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Lead Project Manager - Licensed Environmental Professional to support our environmental operations, in our Shelton and Glastonbury, CT offices. Be involved in projects with our Earth and Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Role purpose

Lead the technical and operational delivery of medium to large environmental projects. Coordinate multidisciplinary work, maintain quality and regulatory compliance, and serve as a reliable day-to-day client and agency contact.

Your Impact

Essential accountabilities

• Plan and deliver environmental assessments, permitting and remediation-related work, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
• Lead technical review of field data, analyses, impact evaluations, permit applications, reports and recommendations.
• Coordinate project teams, budgets, schedules, hours, expenses and task completion; apply QA/QC and health and safety requirements.
• Guide junior project members and coordinate effectively with clients, regulators, resource agencies and technical disciplinas.
• Support project scoping, proposals and business development while keeping current with relevant environmental science and regulatory practices.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, ecology, natural resource management or a related life sciences field.
• 8+ years of relevant environmental consulting/science experience, including surveys, fieldwork, impact assessment and/or construction monitoring.
• Experience with State and Federal environmental regulations and permitting, Phase I/II ESAs, technical reporting and regulatory documentation.
• Strong technical writing, critical thinking, client coordination and ability to lead junior or project team members. Ability to meet project-specific scheduling and occasional travel requirements.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $120,000 - $150,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
