Lead New Organizer

About the Role The Committee of Interns and Residents (CIR) is seeking a Lead New Organizer on the West Coast to lead organizers and campaigns nationwide. This role will utilize CIR resources to strengthen organizing initiatives and guide the learning and development of new organizers. The Lead New Organizer will manage all aspects of organizing campaigns located anywhere in the United States. What You'll Do

• Probe potential CIR chapters and recruit leaders to organizing committees.
• Build relationships with interns, residents, fellows, and allies while overseeing new organizing campaigns.
• Lead the execution of campaign plans and develop new organizers.
• Conduct broad outreach, build one-on-one relationships, and move campaigns forward.
• Plan and implement actions and events; understand resident work life, governance, and hospital operations.
• Collaborate with CIR departments (Communications, Political, Legal, Research, Contract) and ensure compliance with labor law related to union recognition.
• Conduct campaign research (probing, list building, worksite mapping) and facilitate meetings.
• Develop skills in public speaking, healthcare economics, strategic research, and campaign execution. What We're Looking For
• 2-year minimum experience in external organizing.
• Experience tracking and analyzing data for campaigns.
• Ability to use, learn, and teach different organizing tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Ability to develop committees and think critically; strong writing and verbal communication.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (BA/BS); 4-year degree preferred.
• Familiarity with statistics and qualitative/quantitative research.
• Driver's license and willingness to travel; ability to work long hours.
• Residency in AZ, CA, OR, NV, or WA; fully vaccinated for Covid per CDC guidelines. Nice to Have
• Experience with physicians-in-training and healthcare/civil society organizing.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: $111,634 – $134,923 USD per year.
