A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Lead MEP Engineer you’ll lead the design and delivery of fire protection, HVAC, LSP, ELV, plumbing, utility and EOT crane systems for substations, power plants and industrial facilities across the UAE and wider Middle East. These systems keep critical grid infrastructure safe, compliant and running reliably for utilities such as TAQA, DEWA and SEWA. You’ll join a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering team where your technical judgement is trusted, and your work directly supports Siemens Energy’s mission to make energy more reliable, affordable and sustainable.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead the MEP side of tenders end to end: review specifications, employer requirements and drawings; prepare BOQs, cost estimates and technical proposals; and support risk assessments, value engineering and client clarifications.
- Act as technical authority for fire detection and suppression, HVAC, LSP, ELV, plumbing, utility services and EOT crane systems, producing and reviewing calculations, equipment sizing, layouts, specifications and design packages.
- Run RFQs, technical bid evaluations and vendor assessments, and review consultant deliverables, vendor documents and material submittals so that every system meets NFPA, IEC, utility and local authority requirements.
- Coordinate interfaces with civil, electrical, protection, control, telecom and SCMS teams. Supervise MEP installation for quality, safety and schedule, and resolve technical queries, design changes and non-conformances on site.
- Drive FAT, SAT, integrated testing and commissioning of fire alarm, gas suppression, water-based fire protection, HVAC, LSP, ELV and EOT crane systems, and deliver complete commissioning records, handover dossiers and close-out reports.
- Prepare method statements, ITPs, risk assessments and O&M documentation, and manage authority approvals and inspections with UAE Civil Defence, TAQA, DEWA, SEWA, Etihad Water & Electricity and other regional utilities.
What You Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with 8–12 years of experience across MEP engineering, tendering, design management and project execution.
- A proven track record on substations, transmission and distribution projects, power plants or comparable industrial infrastructure, ideally covering the full lifecycle from bid to handover.
- In-depth technical knowledge of fire detection and suppression, HVAC, LSP, ELV, plumbing and drainage, utility services and EOT crane systems, including hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing and specification writing.
- Hands-on experience with technical bid evaluations, cost estimation, vendor and subcontractor management, procurement support, construction supervision, and FAT/SAT and commissioning activities.
- A working knowledge of NFPA, IEC and UAE authority and utility requirements, including UAE Civil Defence, TAQA, DEWA, SEWA and Etihad Water & Electricity, with experience securing approvals and passing inspections.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, strong stakeholder and leadership skills, and willingness to travel across the UAE and wider Middle East as projects require.
