Job title: Lead Mechanical Engineer
About the Role Lead Mechanical Engineer for China within Logitech's Personal Work Space (PWS) division, focusing on C4C Evolutionary-type products. Based in Suzhou, you will lead ME system design, technology scouting, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-volume consumer electronics that meet user needs in China.
What You'll Do
- Lead the ME system innovation, design, and development for C4C Evolutionary-type products.
- Lead ME technology scouting, create a technology roadmap, communicate with stakeholders, align on direction, and develop new technologies.
- Develop new C4C products as ME lead through feasibility studies, concept design, architecture design, risk analysis, verification, ensuring project goals, costs, and schedules are met or exceeded.
- Act as ME engineering consultant for hardware specification, design, and issue investigation.
- Facilitate communication with suppliers and internal/external customers to refine ME processes from product engineering specifications to mass production, including prototyping and qualification.
- Collaborate with PM, Electrical, Optical, Acoustic, and other functions to achieve seamless product design and development.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years experience in product design and development of high-volume consumer electronics, covering ME and CMF.
- 2+ years experience as a technical leader to define, plan, and monitor technical or NPI projects.
- Self-motivated, passionate, high energy; end-user experience oriented.
- Strong English communication (spoken and written).
- 3D and 2D CAD with geometrical tolerancing knowledge.
- Experience in plastic parts and metal parts ME structure development: strength, tolerancing, joining, reliability, drop test, vibration.
- CMF development experience.
- Knowledge of sustainable materials, processes, and technologies.
- Experience designing parts for manufacturing processes: plastic injection molding, compression molding, metal stamping, MIM, die casting, metal extrusion, metal machining, etc.
- Design validation skills: tolerance analysis, FEA, FMEA, prototyping, failure analysis, problem solving (8D, PDCA, DMICA), DOE.
- Multi-functional design skills including mechanism design, electro-mechanical integration, and PCB mechanical design.
- Coaching junior engineers and managing ME crises.
- Education: Bachelor or Master in Mechanical or Material Engineering or equivalent.
