Lead Java Engineer

About the Role Lead Java Engineering Lead to spearhead development of a cutting-edge FinTech application. This hands-on leadership role requires deep technical expertise in Java (Spring Boot, Lombok, JDK 17+), as well as strong teambuilding, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration. You will partner with product managers, business leaders, and engineers to design, develop, and deploy scalable financial solutions. What You'll Do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing engineers, recruiting, onboarding, and training top talent; conducting regular performance reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions; promoting Agile and DevOps culture.
• Define and execute the technical strategy and architecture for a scalable, secure, and high-performance FinTech application; ensure SDLC adherence; guide engineers in design, code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization; stay updated on emerging technologies; monitor with DataDog, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of Java-based microservices using Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs; deliver fault-tolerant, scalable, low-latency systems; collaborate with business teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions; optimize performance, reliability, and security.
• Architect, build, and maintain microservices on cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP; ensure efficient containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes; leverage cloud-based tools for monitoring, logging, and scaling production workloads.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Program Managers, and Business Leaders to align technical roadmaps with company goals; foster collaboration across engineering, product, and non-technical teams; translate complex technical challenges into actionable business solutions.
• Establish a culture of continuous learning and process improvement; promote automation, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines; encourage adoption of new frameworks, tools, and best practices to improve team efficiency and product quality.
• Ensure applications comply with financial regulations and data security standards (GDPR, PCI DSS); proactively manage technical risks and security incidents; implement robust authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms.
• Design and manage SQL/NoSQL databases for high-volume data processing; optimize queries for fast financial transactions; integrate real-time data processing solutions (Kafka or Hadoop) to handle high throughput workloads. What We're Looking For
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience: 10+ years in Java development; 3+ years in leadership.
• Technical Expertise: Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate), microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Cloud & DevOps: Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Agile & Collaboration: Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Problem-Solving & Security: Proven ability to design and deploy secure applications in a regulated environment. Nice to Have
• DevOps & Automation: Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Kubernetes, and cloud-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Full-Stack Exposure: Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React or Angular.
