About the Role Lead Instructor for General Assembly's Software Engineering Bootcamp, focusing on JavaScript and full-stack web development. This on-site role in Bahrain involves guiding students through projects and working with a growing instructional team to deliver an impactful education experience.
What You'll Do
- Teach Sunday to Wednesday from 6pm-9pm for the 24-week course on campus in Bahrain.
- Prepare lessons and materials for sessions, leveraging GA curriculum content.
- Collaborate with co-instructors or teaching assistants to provide meaningful feedback on student progress.
- Align with GA staff to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
- Guide students through development of a stellar final project to showcase to hiring managers.
- Foster a dynamic, collaborative, and positive classroom community.
- Inspire students to persevere through the challenges of learning a new skill set.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience working on a software development team.
- Familiarity with CS topics such as Recursion, Sorting, Search, Linked Lists, Stacks and queues, Sets, Trees, Graphs, Hash tables, and Design patterns.
- Working experience in both front-end and back-end development; fluent in HTML and CSS.
- Full-stack JavaScript (strong JavaScript highly preferred).
- At least one JS MV* framework (React preferred).
- SQL databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
- At least one additional object-oriented language (Python highly preferred).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to provide meaningful feedback and adapt to student needs.
- Availability to teach evenings (Sun-Wed 6pm-9pm) on-site in Bahrain.
