About this role
About the Role Lead Instructor for GA's flagship Software Engineering Immersive program. You will teach and lead the instructional team, guiding students toward apprenticeship in software development while adapting the curriculum and mentoring peers. This role supports GA's mission to empower lifelong learners and to bring practical tech talent to the workforce, with opportunities in our Bahrain region and remote work from approved countries. What You'll Do
- Teach Sunday-Thursday, 9am-5pm local time for the 12-week program, and commit additional hours for lesson prep and student support using GA curriculum content.
- Work closely with one or more co-instructors or teaching assistants to provide meaningful feedback and ensure student progress.
- Collaborate with GA staff to meet diverse learning styles and needs, and guide students through development of a stellar final project.
- Build and adapt lesson plans, mentor students, and help create a safe, energetic classroom community.
- Inspire perseverance and a love for software development; participate in travel if applicable (GA covers travel expenses). What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of professional software development experience on a team.
- Front-end and back-end development experience; fluent in HTML and CSS.
- Full-stack JavaScript with strong JS skills.
- At least one JS MV* framework (Angular, Backbone, or React).
- SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis).
- Experience with at least one OO language (Ruby or Python).
- WDI/SEI Alumni a strong plus. Nice to Have
- Prior teaching or leadership experience in an instructional setting.
