About this role
About the Role Lead Instructor for GA's flagship Software Engineering Immersive program. You will lead the instructional team, teach a rigorous full-time web development curriculum, and help students develop the skills and mindsets to launch careers as web developers. What You'll Do
- Work closely with one or more co-instructors to guide students through a rigorous 12-week, full-time software development journey and apprenticeship pathway.
- Become a better leader, mentoring as you learn from veteran instructors and instructional coaches.
- Inspire and support students as they identify passions and drive their own continued learning beyond the curriculum.
- Adapt GA's global curriculum to the local context, build your own lesson plans as needed, and contribute back lessons learned.
- Facilitate a safe, supportive, and energetic classroom community that accommodates diverse learning styles.
- Provide meaningful, timely feedback on student progress in collaboration with co-instructors or teaching assistants.
- Guide students through the development of a stellar final project that demonstrates their abilities to hiring managers.
- Support students with travel, logistics, and other program-related needs as relevant. What We're Looking For
- At least 3+ years of experience on a software development team.
- Working experience in both front-end and back-end development.
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS.
- Strong Full-stack JavaScript skills.
- Experience with at least one JavaScript MV* framework (Angular, Backbone, Ember, or React).
- Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
- Experience with at least one other object-oriented language (Ruby or Python).
