ABOUT THIS ROLE

Position: Lead Information Security Engineer

Location: 141 W. Jackson Blvd., Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60604

Responsibilities

• Develop security architecture, design, and coding standards to promote standardized security requirements, aligned with internal policies and external compliance requirements.
• Develop and maintain centralized security reference architecture based on common security standards.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to engineer technology solutions and processes incorporating sound security design and governance principles.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and embed security into the development lifecycle of systems, cloud infrastructure, applications, and products.
• Participate in the design, lifecycle management, and cost of security appliances, applications, and infrastructure services.
• Provide security-related coaching and mentoring to elevate development teams’ expertise.
• Lead meetings with cross-functional teams to establish current and future state security models.
• Analyze impacts to architectures, processes, and procedures to create recommendations.
• Ensure implementation of security best practices with developers and IT engineers during product design.
• Lead and coordinate technical reviews (architectural, security, compliance, etc.).
• Provide technical leadership in selecting and implementing next-generation security solutions that enable agility and innovation.
• Evaluate existing security measures; re-architect, integrate, deploy, and optimize to improve cyber resiliency.
• Document and design enterprise security requirements and controls for on-premises and cloud environments based on zero trust and defense in depth and alignment with company Information Security Standards.
• Create performance metrics (KPI/KRI) to measure cybersecurity capabilities, tools, and services.

Educ./experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Architect, Software Engineer, or in a related position.

• Experience must include Python for automating security workflows, developing custom security tooling and scripting API interactions for AI/Cloud platforms; HCL utilized with Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to codify security guardrails and cloud resources, advanced configuration and management of AWS security services, including GuardDuty, Security Hub, and AWS Config to enable continuous security posture monitoring (CSPM).

• Salary range: $150,675/year
