About the Role The Lead Software Engineer at SimCorp is tasked with leading the design, development, and implementation of intricate software solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality software that meets business requirements and technical specifications. You will join a team in Platform Product Development and leverage .NET technologies and the Azure cloud ecosystem, providing leadership and architectural insight to ensure timely delivery and sustainability.
What You'll Do
- Drive the development of new backend features and system enhancements using .NET, databases, and Azure technologies.
- Review user stories, participate in design, code reviews and write automated tests.
- Collaborate with the system architect and product owner to shape technical direction and align with architectural guidelines.
- Set up engineering excellence within your team and continuously improve it.
- Manage quality assurance, refactor existing code, and explore tools and frameworks to enable future innovations.
- Work as part of a scrum team to reach the definition of done within each sprint.
What We're Looking For
- More than 6 years of practical experience using .NET technologies, particularly C# and Microsoft .Net, including a minimum of 2 years in a lead or senior position.
- Experience building REST APIs using the .NET stack (OData).
- Proficiency with PowerShell.
- Understanding of design patterns and principles (OOP, SOLID) with demonstrated application in real-world scenarios.
- Practical knowledge in solution and system design.
- Knowledge of cloud services, infrastructure, pipelines, and architecture — preferably on Azure.
- Practical knowledge of software development practices (like TDD, BDD) and experience in CI/CD and DevOps principles.
- Experience in conducting peer reviews and employing code quality tools such as SonarQube.
- Experience with NUnit, and building unit tests and integration tests.
- Proficient in Git and familiar with Agile methodologies.
- High proficiency in resolving issues and making sound technical decisions.
Nice to Have
- Desirable: JS/TypeScript, Angular, Node.js.
- Database experience – SQL.
- Experience in the FinTech industry.
