About the Opportunity

McKesson is seeking a Lead FinOps Analyst: Cloud, Network & Infrastructure to own financial and consumption outcomes across its Cloud, Network, and Infrastructure services. This high-visibility role will partner with engineering, platform, Finance/FP&A, vendor, and business stakeholders to improve cost transparency, data accuracy, forecasting, optimization, allocation, and financial accountability.

The successful candidate will combine strong FinOps and cost analytics capabilities with the ability to translate complex technical and financial information into clear business insights, recommendations, and actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the accuracy and completeness of Cloud, Network, and Infrastructure reporting, including consumption, billing, tagging, metadata, attribution, allocation, and chargeback data.

  • Manage FinOps intake for new and changed services, establishing consumption units, attribution paths, integration standards, and remediation of data-quality or tagging issues.

  • Consolidate infrastructure demand into forecasts, budgets, and cost projections while analyzing forecast-versus-actual and month-over-month variances.

  • Identify, quantify, prioritize, and track cost optimization opportunities and evaluate cloud or vendor commitments based on utilization, coverage, risk, and financial return.

  • Partner with engineering, service owners, vendors, Finance/FP&A, and business stakeholders to communicate spend trends, explain cost drivers, drive accountability, and support FinOps governance.

  • Must-Have Qualifications

  • FinOps Data & Cost Analytics: Advanced ability to analyze and govern consumption, billing, tagging, attribution, allocation, and chargeback data across Cloud, Network, and Infrastructure services. Demonstrated ability to identify data-quality issues and distinguish true consumption changes from reporting or attribution issues.

  • Forecasting, Optimization & Commitment Management: Demonstrated experience translating infrastructure demand into forecasts, budgets, and cost projections; identifying and quantifying optimization opportunities; and evaluating cloud or vendor commitments based on utilization, coverage, risk, and financial return.

  • Stakeholder Management & Executive Communication: Strong ability to translate complex technical and financial data into clear business insights and actions. Demonstrated experience partnering with engineering, service owners, vendors, and Finance/FP&A while driving accountability through recurring governance.

  • Hands-on experience with cost allocation, showback, and/or chargeback models, including the treatment of shared costs.

  • Experience establishing and enforcing tagging, metadata, attribution, and cost-accountability standards across engineering or technical teams.

  • Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with FinOps or TBM platforms such as Apptio, Cloudability, CloudHealth, Flexera, Vantage, or native cloud cost-management tools.

  • Experience within a Fortune 500 or regulated environment, ideally healthcare.

  • Experience standing up, scaling, or maturing a FinOps practice, operating model, or FinOps portal.

  • Required Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, IT financial management, technology finance, or a closely related discipline.

  • 3+ years owning cost reporting for a major technology or infrastructure service category.

  • Experience managing financial and consumption data across public cloud, network, data center, telecom, and/or hosted infrastructure environments.

  • Experience with commitment-based discounts such as AWS Reserved Instances and Savings Plans, Azure Reservations, or negotiated vendor commitments.

  • Experience validating vendor invoices, usage, and rates against contractual terms.

  • Strong data analysis capabilities using Excel plus at least one of SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or Python.

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical cost drivers, financial impacts, variances, and recommended actions to senior leaders and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Certified Professional certification preferred.

  • Engagement Details

  • Contract Duration: 6 months

  • Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

  • Work Model: Hybrid, with 2 days per week onsite required

  • Start Date: As soon as possible

  • Level / Rate Guidance: P5 equivalent
