Job title: Lead Environment Artist
About the Role Lead Environment Artist to conceive, create and lead the team in delivering innovative environmental visuals for AAA titles. You'll be based at our Edinburgh studio and work closely with production, art direction and external teams to push the quality bar.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage the Environment Art team, delivering high-quality visuals for AAA titles.
- Contribute to art direction and develop a diverse range of visual styles while implementing current-gen techniques and tools.
- Develop and implement solid art production pipelines; manage deadlines and budgets; assign tasks to artists with varying skill levels.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams; present to clients in a professional manner.
- Identify and mitigate risks, troubleshoot and find creative solutions.
- Maintain autonomous ownership of deadlines and budget management with strong time management.
- Ensure timely delivery and quality across projects while fostering a collaborative studio culture.
What We're Looking For
- At least 4+ years of experience in console development with at least 2 shipped titles and one as a Lead Artist.
- Excellent visual and verbal communication when directing internal or external teams.
- Strong resource management and judgement assigning artists of varying skill sets.
- Comfortable liaising with and presenting to clients in an authoritative and professional manner.
- Self-motivated team-leader with attention to detail and passion for delivering the best possible game experience.
- Autonomous in managing deadlines and budgets with excellent time management.
- Experience managing art teams effectively and in a timely fashion.
- 2-3 years experience developing and implementing solid art production pathways.
- Ability to find creative solutions when troubleshooting and assessing risks.
- Good understanding of cutting-edge artistic techniques and tools and ability to implement them into current practices.
