About the Role

Lead Enterprise Architect is a senior technical leader within Merkle’s Digital Product Engineering (DPE) practice, part of the broader Digital Experience (DX) organization. The role blends enterprise architecture with product engineering, governing multi‑platform delivery programs and shaping what gets built and why, while leading cross‑disciplinary teams to deliver production‑ready solutions. It collaborates with DPE’s Technology Lead to ensure both platform stability and forward‑looking AI‑enabled innovation for a Fortune 100 client.

What You'll Do

• Architectural Governance & Delivery Oversight: Owning the end‑to‑end technical architecture across the engagement, ensuring alignment to the roadmap, enterprise standards, and delivery rigor.
• Multi‑Platform Solution Architecture: Design and govern integrated, enterprise‑class solutions anchored in the Adobe ecosystem (AEM, AEP, Target, Analytics, Workfront) while integrating adjacent platforms (Salesforce Clouds, middleware, data infrastructure) and defining integration contracts with the AI workstream.
• Web & Digital Experience Delivery: Lead the initial phase of work to uplift critical digital properties using Adobe Experience Manager as the foundation, while ensuring a composable architecture for future modernization and AI enhancements.
• Enterprise Integration Architecture: Design scalable integration patterns across platforms, APIs, data layers, and middleware for seamless data flow and interoperability, including integration surfaces between traditional services and AI capabilities.
• Delivery Excellence & Execution Discipline: Apply sprint‑level architecture involvement, manage technical debt, map dependencies, mitigate risks, and provide hands‑on leadership to keep large, multi‑team programs on track.
• Technical Leadership & Team Orchestration: Mentor multi‑disciplinary delivery teams across workstreams to ensure technical alignment and quality standards.
• Client‑Facing Technical Partnership: Act as a senior technical authority with client stakeholders at VP and C‑suite levels, translating architectural decisions into business terms and presenting a coherent narrative.
• Innovation Within Execution: Identify and embed AI capabilities (AI‑powered personalization, intelligent automation, agentic workflows) into the roadmap where they deliver measurable value, collaborating with the Technology Lead on native embedding vs orchestration.

• This is a senior, embedded role on a dedicated client team within DPE’s delivery model, responsible for translating an approved strategic roadmap into shipped, scalable solutions with architectural coherence and delivery discipline.
• Architectural Governance & Delivery Oversight: End‑to‑end technical architecture ownership, ensuring components align to roadmap and enterprise standards.
• Multi‑Platform Solution Architecture: Expertise in Adobe ecosystem (AEM, AEP, Target, Analytics, Workfront) and experience integrating adjacent platforms and data layers.
• Web & Digital Experience Delivery: Ability to uplift digital properties on Adobe Experience Manager and design for future modernization and AI enhancements.
• Enterprise Integration Architecture: Designing scalable integration patterns across APIs, data, and middleware with robust governance.
• Delivery Excellence & Execution Discipline: Experience with sprint‑level architecture involvement, technical debt management, dependency mapping, risk mitigation, and program leadership.
• Technical Leadership & Team Orchestration: Proven record mentoring developers, data engineers, QA, and platform specialists.
• Client‑Facing Technical Partnership: Comfortable engaging with VP‑ and C‑level stakeholders, translating technical decisions into business terms.
• Innovation Within Execution: Demonstrated ability to identify AI capabilities that deliver value and determine where to embed vs orchestrate AI solutions.
