About the Role You will lead the Industrial Measurement and Satellite Alignment efforts within OHB's AIT division in Bremen. The Alignment Team is responsible for all alignment tasks during satellite integration, including the precise alignment of instruments such as star trackers, propulsion components and other hardware across development, integration, test and launch phases. What You'll Do
- Organize and lead all technical alignment matters within the assigned project to meet stakeholders' expectations within cost, schedule, quality and risk constraints.
- Assume overall technical responsibility for all alignment tasks during satellite development, integration, test and launch phases at the project level (adhering to generic AIT processes).
- Establish an alignment plan; deliver budgets and inputs for satellite design, systems engineering, AOCS and propulsion regarding alignment requirements.
- Check alignment requirements and translate them into an alignment approach; identify measurement methods and define a suitable sequence of measurements.
- Deliver inputs to the AIT plan and schedule; create procedures for alignment; execute measurements with Theodolites, Laser Trackers, Photogrammetry and Spatial Analyzer.
- Evaluate measurement results and summarize them in test reports; discuss results with the customer; contribute to AIT reviews and NRBs; train personnel; develop standards for alignment measurements; perform R&D of new alignment/metrology technologies as needed. What We're Looking For
- Completed (engineering) studies in surveying/geodesy, aerospace engineering, physics or comparable qualification.
- Focus on optical measurements with at least 5 to 7 years of professional experience including the use of theodolites, laser trackers and photogrammetry.
- Advanced knowledge of SpatialAnalyzer for measurement execution and analysis.
- 5 to 7 years of experience with alignment for space projects and with the necessary documentation and budgets.
- High level of communication and teamwork skills; motivation, structured and independent work; strong conceptual, problem solving and analytical abilities; flexibility.
- Strategic action: high cost and schedule awareness, foresighted planning, early detection and avoidance of technical risks. Willingness to travel and work shifts; ability to work under pressure.
- Fluent in written and spoken English; knowledge of German is advantageous. Nice to Have
- German language skills are beneficial though not mandatory.
