About this role
Job title: Lead Design Engineer
About the Role
Lead the regionalization and new product development of centrifugal compressors, overseeing structural design and component development to deliver optimized designs with performance, cost, reliability and manufacturability.
What You'll Do
- Mechanical Structure Design: Responsible for structural design and development of centrifugal compressors including regionalization and NPD programs. Perform structural analysis including stress, vibration, and thermal deformation for risk assessment. Drive design optimization to achieve improved performance, reduced cost, high reliability and manufacturability. Lead technical standardization and continuous improvement of design guidelines. Research and drive patentable design trends to maximize product value, optimize cost, and enhance compressor performance.
- Components Qualification: Conduct component development, verification, and technical issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle. Identify & mitigate potential risks by using DFMEA, simulation tools and functional tests. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify and mitigate manufacturing risk by adopting the PFMEA tool.
- New Product Development: Lead technical reviews and prepare associated documentation. Interact with functional teams to ensure the design checklist and guidelines have been followed and meet program schedule. Release BOM, part drawing and engineering specification by following engineering change process.
- Maintain product and support improvement: Work with global engineering team for global product regionalization. Provide technical solutions for continuous maintenance and improvement after product launch.
