About this role
Nutreco is seeking a Lead Counsel for Legal and Ethics & Compliance to support assigned international business units from a hybrid location in Canada or the USA. You will provide practical legal and E&C guidance to manage risk, interpret requirements, protect the company’s reputation, and help leaders make informed business decisions. You will build trusted relationships with senior leaders, anticipate challenges, identify risks and opportunities early, and deliver practical solutions before issues arise. You will enable the business to handle routine legal and compliance matters through clear guidance, templates, digital tools, and self-service resources, while fostering confidence and capability within leadership teams. You will manage external counsel to ensure specialized support is efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with business priorities. You will support the development and improvement of legal and E&C policies, procedures, templates, playbooks, and systems to strengthen governance and operational effectiveness. You will deliver training, support risk assessments, monitor trends, and assist with internal investigations as needed. You will support strategic projects, M&A activities, and other cross-functional initiatives from a legal and E&C perspective.
