Job title: Lead Controls Engineer

About the Role As a Lead Controls Engineer at Automated Logic (a Carrier company), you'll design advanced building automation systems tailored to each customer. You will lead smaller projects and mentor less experienced engineers, solving complex problems in a collaborative environment.

What You'll Do

  • Design and program increasingly advanced building automation systems, site-specific configuration of control systems, and control algorithms.
  • Adhere to project requirements and company and customer standards of design, programming, and implementation.
  • Create a clear design document for project teams with technical information.
  • Document and communicate the building automation system design and revisions.
  • Develop graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems.
  • Test programming and interfaces prior to implementation.
  • Provide technical support to sales representatives to ensure customers’ needs are met.
  • Identify and communicate project opportunities and risks.
  • Support functional testing for complex building systems.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of building automation/HVAC experience or Associate Degree with 6+ years of building automation/HVAC experience or High School Diploma or GED with 8+ years of building automation/HVAC experience.
  • Travel onsite: Ability to travel and work onsite at a Hubbard, TX client location 50% of the time.
  • Preferred qualifications: Advanced degree in Engineering or Construction; experience in HVAC controls and building automation; proficiency with building automation software and engineering tools; strong knowledge of Automated Logic software, hardware, peripherals, add-ons, and services; proficiency with third-party protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, N2; understanding of Enterprise IP networks and Visio; ability to write and translate sequences of operations; ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences; physical ability to climb ladders or lift items up to 50 lbs.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Construction (preferred).
  • Experience in HVAC controls, Building Automation or related industry.
  • Proficiency with building automation software and third-party protocols (BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, N2) and with Enterprise IP networks and Visio.
  • Ability to translate technical information for both technical and non-technical audiences; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: USD 79,000 - 158,000 yearly.
  • Short-term cash incentives may be offered subject to plan requirements.
