Job title: Lead CMF Engineer

About the Role Logitech is seeking a Lead CMF Engineer to drive CMF engineering design and supplier collaboration for products developed in Hsinchu, Taiwan. You will lead CMF projects, work cross-functionally with product marketing, ID, ME and CMF design, and ensure process capability and quality from concept through MP.

What You'll Do

  • Implement and conduct CMF innovation ideas and lead and/or support CMF technology projects to enable products and meet customer requirements, diversity, inclusivity, sustainability and customization.
  • Partner with product marketing, ID, mechanical engineering, and CMF design teams; perform CMF engineering design of new products including DFM, GD&T, SPC, and DOE; select materials and conduct trials and qualification; oversee painting, printing, plating, and other CMF process trials; troubleshoot on-site and support product projects.
  • Manage or partner with molding and CMF-related suppliers to ensure smooth CMF process ramp-up and mass production for NPI (new product introduction).
  • Provide CMF consulting, training and support to Hsinchu site (ME, QA, Commodity, PMs...).
  • Support ongoing supplier audits for new tech and cost-down efforts on existing tech.

What We're Looking For

  • Technical competence: Creative CMF engineering design in early product concept phases; ability to synthesize and present data and ideas logically; maintain engineering design quality to enable CMF process capability through trials and mass production; define, approve, develop, and qualify new CMF.
  • Familiar with materials knowhow & technology (plastics, metals, composites, flexible tech); experienced in color/appearance management and finishing techniques (printing, painting, IMD).
  • Proficient ISO auditor with a pro-active partnership with key CMF suppliers.
  • Personal competence: Fluent English (Chinese a plus); strong communication as CMF consultant and technical influencer; attention to detail; adaptable in a fast-moving environment; able to work in a global, multi-cultural team; willing to travel; able to work with overseas suppliers.
  • Education & Experience: University degree or above; training in chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, printing technology, mechanical engineering; 5+ years as a CMF/ME engineer; 5 years experience in electronics, sports goods or related industries (molding, painting, printing, plastic decoration); 3 years managing suppliers in high-volume production; 3 years as a project engineer.
