Job title: Lead Cashier
Legacy Place Retail Store in Dedham, MA is seeking a Year-Round, Part-Time Lead Cashier to support store management and deliver world-class customer service. The role focuses on back-of-house operational activities related to the point of service/sale areas, including cash operations and reconciliation, while serving as a role model for customer service.
What You'll Do
- Assist store management in promoting sales and providing world-class customer service to support business and department goals.
- Assign tasks/jobs to front-line employees and coordinate work processes and staffing to maximize efficiency.
- Lead back-of-house operational activities related to POS areas, including cash operations, deposits, reconciliation of cash variances, and reporting issues.
- Oversee cash wrap area; perform cash pulls, drawer assignments, deposits, sign-offs on returns, employee purchases, price overrides and post-voids.
- Protect company assets and report concerns; ensure safety, security and cleanliness of sales floor and support areas.
- Train, coach, and provide feedback to associates; may assist in interviewing and input into hiring decisions; escalate performance issues per policy.
- Support Lead - Sales by staffing front-line reps to meet business needs; liaise with Client Support to resolve POS issues.
- Monitor merchandising presentation, stock levels, and inventory discrepancies; provide input to ensure stock meets business demand.
- In the absence of other leadership, assume delegated responsibility for the operation of the assigned area.
- Adhere to Loss Prevention policies and procedures and contribute to Peak planning.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or GED; 1+ years of retail experience.
- Systems knowledge/experience; familiarity with POS systems and cash handling.
- Strong customer service and communication skills; ability to coach and provide feedback.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and customers; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain enthusiasm, motivation, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to handle currency accurately.

- Leadership or supervisory experience in retail is a plus.
