About this role

About the Role Logan Health Medical Center is looking for a skilled and compassionate LDRP Registered Nurse (RN) to be part of our Labor & Delivery team in Kalispell, MT. The department delivers more than 650 babies per year and serves as the primary high-risk delivery site for Northwest Montana. You will care for antepartum, laboring, and postpartum mothers and their newborns, and you will learn to circulate in the OR for cesarean sections with support from OB surgical technicians.

What You'll Do

  • Provide primary nursing care to patients, including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation.
  • Circulate in the OR for cesarean sections and coordinate with OB surgical technicians.
  • Transcribe and implement provider orders (verbal and written) accurately; document encounters according to organizational standards.
  • Maintain infection control procedures and uphold nursing standards of care as workloads and patient conditions change.
  • Educate patients and families about health and medical needs per department protocol.
  • Assess and anticipate patient needs and coordinate interventions per policy, procedure, and provider orders.
  • Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA; follow OSHA rules and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, critical thinking, and teamwork skills; able to work both on a team and independently.
  • Maintain computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Current Montana RN license or multi-state compact license with authorization to practice in Montana.
  • BSN degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar LDRP role preferred.
  • Must be an experienced LDRP Registered Nurse.
  • Healthcare Provider CPR and/or BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required as applicable.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology, and principles of professional nursing practice; HIPAA compliance.
  • Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and instruments used in a medical setting; simple routine clinical laboratory methods; universal precautions.
  • Understanding of OSHA rules and regulations; familiarity with controlled substances and medication storage; compliance with payer restrictions where applicable.
  • Excellent organizational, detail-oriented, self-starter attitude; critical thinking; ability to prioritize and work in a team or independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Proficiency with computer systems; ability to learn and adapt to new software.

Nice to Have

  • BSN degree (preferred).
  • Additional OB-related certifications (e.g., perinatal or nursing certifications) preferred.
