About the Role Lawyers in Jones Day's Madrid Office provide advice on a wide range of business law matters, including banking and finance, M&A, litigation and arbitration, real estate, capital markets, antitrust and other regulation, intellectual property, tax, labor and employment, and benefits. They collaborate with colleagues in Jones Day’s global network of more than 40 offices to deliver cross-border, client-focused service on matters of international significance. The Madrid Office seeks lawyers who share a strong commitment to outstanding client service and professional excellence. What You'll Do
- Advise on a wide range of business law matters including banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions, litigation and arbitration, real estate, capital markets, antitrust and other regulation, intellectual property, tax, labor and employment, and benefits.
- Work with clients from multiple industries, including renewable energy, financial services, infrastructure, technology, telecom, and media.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Jones Day's global network (40+ offices) to deliver cross-border, cross-practice service on matters with international significance.
- Contribute to high-profile transactions and financings, including multibillion-euro deals and financings for major banks such as Banco Santander and BBVA, as well as work for Spanish subsidiaries of the Firm's global client base.
- Participate in training and development programs, including the New Lawyer Academy, and engage with colleagues worldwide to foster a One Firm Worldwide culture.

- Lawyers at various levels of experience; the firm hires accomplished attorneys to fit different needs across offices and practices.
- Commitment to outstanding client service and collaborative work style.
- Strong interest in participating in international and cross-office assignments.
- Preference for candidates who have obtained an LLM degree and who have demonstrated training or internship experiences.
- Willingness to participate in training programs such as the New Lawyer Academy and to engage with the Firm's global network.
- Openness to internships or temporary trainee contracts for students or recent graduates, with potential offers to become an associate. Nice to Have
