Job title: Launch Engineer
About the Role Reporting directly to the Launch Manager, the Launch Engineer will help secure manufacturing readiness, maintain timelines, and support the program from development to production at the Kenitra plant.
What You'll Do
- Maintain program timeline and manufacturing readiness; manage the open issues list to ensure milestones are met.
- Track on-time execution of plant deliverables and engineering deadlines; ensure plant timeline aligns with the program timeline.
- Manage Launch Startup costs according to the program budget.
- Supervise the launch performance report.
- Monitor trim cover deliveries to meet production build quantities and dates.
- Support AME to ensure manufacturing feasibility; attend and supervise Manufacturing Review.
- Ensure all required quality documentation is completed and approved both internally and by the customer.
- Monitor timely completion of Process Sign-Off and Parts Submission.
- Serve as key interface between Customer / Program Manager / JIT plant and Plant SDT team to achieve targets on time, cost, quality and manufacturing feasibility.
- Attend and provide feedback on emphasis builds to ensure the right product is manufactured in the plant.
- Organize and follow internal (dry run) and external Trim Plant Run & Rate (R&R) to ensure product is produced according to specifications and takt time.
- Consistently promote high standards of behavior and ensure all team members understand the standards and behaviors expected of them.
What We're Looking For
- Engineering degree or equivalent.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience as Launch Engineer / Project Leader or equivalent.
- Knowledge of APQP, AIAG Quality planning and Control Plan standards, FMEA, PPAP, Dimensional layouts, Gage/fixture design and Performance/Material testing.
- Experience with quality systems in manufacturing and customer communication activities.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma Problem Solving Process, Quality Roadmap, Kepner-Tregoe Problem solving techniques, 8D problem solving techniques, PPSC, FMEA, DOE and SPC.
