LAN-WAN Analyst

About the Role

The LAN-WAN Analyst will support ICT operations and contribute to the design, deployment, and ongoing optimization of network solutions across LAN, WAN, wireless, and security domains. This role ensures alignment with the group network and security architecture while assisting in ICT project delivery. What You'll Do

• Develop and support comprehensive network LAN, WAN, wireless and security solutions that meet requirements and integrate into the overall network and security architecture.

• Evaluate current network and security systems to propose and implement enhancements on network switches, routers, firewall services, VPN and other network management devices; define, design and implement network and security solutions.

• Create and maintain standard builds/templates and apply advanced network and security engineering and architecture knowledge to complex problems.

• Participate in IT network infrastructure project design, reviews and ensure network architecture goals and requirements are met and aligned with business objectives.

• Work with internal customers and service providers to design, implement and support networks.

• Assess vendor development/test strategies for various network domain projects.

• Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.

• Deploy both bare metal systems and virtual cloud services.

• Support and collaborate on the development, implementation and administration of processes and procedures to ensure reliability.

• Develop network and security documentation, including diagrams, work instructions, test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects.

• Write functional requirements/specifications documents.

• Demonstrate confidence with the ability to present and have conversations.

• Establish best practices through collaboration with IT Security and IT Infrastructure Operations.

• Collaborate with IT Security and Service Delivery toward compliance and auditing.

• Maintain sensitivity and respect for a culturally diverse work environment and the ability to travel. What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Network Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent industry experience.

• Cisco CCNA required; CCNP preferred.

• Information technology certifications such as MCP, ITIL; 1 to 3 years of progressive experience in computer network design and support.

• Knowledge and experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, SSH, VPNs) and IP routing protocols including RIP, BGP, OSPF, IP Multicast, MPLS.

• Network Switching required. Understands service providers and TCP/IP data networks. IPv4 knowledge is a must.

• Proven ability to accomplish assigned tasks with little supervision; able to manage and prioritize complex, changing workloads in a technical environment. Nice to Have

• CCNP and additional information technology certifications such as MCP, ITIL are desirable.
