About the Role ALS Geochemistry is seeking Laboratory Workers to join the Geochemistry team in Malaga. By joining our talent pool you will be considered for upcoming opportunities. The role is entry-level with full training and casual shifts with fortnightly rotation across day, afternoon and night.
What You'll Do
- Work safely in the laboratory environment, including chemical handling
- Weighing, fusion and digestion of samples according to various methods
- Develop an understanding of laboratory practice and scientific processes
- Perform equipment checks and calibrations to ensure accuracy and precision of results
- Work in a team and support colleagues
- Over time exposure to more complex procedures and potential progression to instrumentation, including AAS and ICP-AES
What We're Looking For
- A Cert IV or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques or BSc will be highly regarded
- Laboratory experience preferred but not essential
- Ability to follow set procedures and attention to detail
- Adequate numerical, verbal and written communication skills
- Highly task-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of effectively managing multiple responsibilities
- Extremely high work ethic and ability to work well in a team
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, manual handling and repetitive work environment
- Flexible and dependable, with the ability to meet the high demands of the department
Nice to Have
- Exposure to instrumentation such as AAS and ICP-AES (preferred but not required)
