Laboratory Scientist (Kaduna)

Performs and quality-assures laboratory testing accurately and safely, supporting patient care and the running of the laboratory service.

Perform laboratory testing across relevant laboratory areas to professional standards.
Apply biosafety and quality-control standards in day-to-day practice.
Maintain equipment readiness for own work and report faults promptly.
Maintain accurate laboratory records and support reporting/result workflows.
Required skills
Knowledge of laboratory practice across relevant disciplines appropriate to the role
Competence in specimen handling and testing
Sound understanding of quality control and biosafety
Competent operation and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
Accurate record-keeping
Competent use of laboratory information systems
Nice to have
Specialty training or certification relevant to the laboratory discipline

Minimum of 1 year of post-registration/post-internship experience in the relevant profession; newly registered practitioners may be considered.
Post-registration experience in medical laboratory science practice.
Clinical/technical competence appropriate to the role, exercised with appropriate supervision.

Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from a recognised institution.
Completion of the required national internship and NYSC, or a valid exemption where applicable.
