Labor Representative

About the Role The California Nurses Association/National Nurses United is seeking an experienced Labor Representative based in Sacramento to lead bargaining, organizing, and member education efforts for nurses across facilities in California. You will help build a movement for health care justice by developing leadership, coordinating workplace committees, and mobilizing members to defend patient-centered care and nurse power. What You'll Do

• Organize nurses in private and public employment across facilities from the Sacramento office.
• Handle all matters related to collective bargaining: data analysis, contract negotiation, processing grievances, and conducting arbitrations when needed.
• Develop rank-and-file leadership and strong workplace committees; educate members about alternatives to corporate control of health care.
• Mobilize members to respond to attacks on nurses and health care initiatives; travel as required.
• Represent nurses in employment-related problems and issues with management; work closely with CNA/NNU leadership.
• Maintain and compile pertinent data to support bargaining and member education. What We're Looking For
• Prior experience as a full-time labor representative, ideally in a union setting.
• Demonstrated success in contract negotiations and arbitrations.
• Effectiveness in organizing membership participation and developing rank-and-file leadership.
• Ability to work strategically to advance health care justice and organize strong workplace committees.
• Based in California (Sacramento preferred); willingness to travel; valid driver's license and insured car. Nice to Have
• Experience as First Chair or lead negotiator; successful contracts to describe. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: $70,332 – $188,796 per year, depending on experience.
