About the Role Perkins Coie seeks a midlevel associate with 2-5 years of employment law experience to join its San Francisco Employment practice group. The role focuses on a mix of employment litigation and counseling, with opportunities to develop a practice within a leading AmLaw 100 firm environment.
What You'll Do
- Represent clients in employment litigation, including court appearances and depositions
- Draft and file motions (e.g., summary judgment) and other dispositive briefing
- Draft motions to compel arbitration
- Prepare discovery requests and responses; draft oppositions to motions for class certification (including declaration gathering drives)
- Draft long-form settlement agreements in wage and hour class/collective actions
- Draft separation agreements, offer letters, arbitration agreements, and PIIAs
- Counsel clients on employment law compliance, including policies, handbooks, leaves and accommodations, performance and discipline, hiring and termination decisions
- Conduct labor due diligence on M&A deals (highly preferred)
- Additional tasks as needed to help build a practice
What We're Looking For
- 2-5 years of employment law experience; strong academic credentials; excellent legal writing
- Experience in employment litigation, including court appearances and depositions; preferably with an AmLaw 100 firm
- Ideal candidates will have federal clerkship experience; experience with single-plaintiff and class actions, wage and hour matters, and client counseling
- Experience with drafting: summary judgment motions, dispositive briefing, motions to compel arbitration, discovery requests and responses, oppositions to class certification, long-form wage/hour settlements, separation agreements, arbitration agreements, and PIIAs
- Experience advising on employment law compliance; policy/human resources matters such as policies/handbooks/leaves/accommodations, performance and discipline, hiring/termination
- Experience with labor due diligence on M&A deals is highly preferred

Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation range: $235,000 to $365,000 annually
