Job title: Lab Tech 1

About the Role Join Zoetis as Lab Tech 1 in Phoenix to support diagnostic testing in a clinical laboratory setting. You will perform and assist with processing of samples, operate high-throughput analyzers and other diagnostic equipment, and help ensure accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

• Process and perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal or histology samples using high-throughput automated analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Set up and run lab tests, read and release results according to ZRL SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Maintain analyzer upkeep including daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance.
• Accession samples and manage specimen tracking storage, including packaging and unpackaging of samples for shipments to other laboratories.
• Follow QC standards and EHS practices consistent with laboratory standards.
• Troubleshoot sample integrity issues and respond to customer concerns through Salesforce ticketing with our customer service department.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Properly handle and dispose of medical and biohazardous waste per regulatory guidelines.
• Consistently fill out laboratory logs, including maintenance, environmental, and cleaning logs.
• Be a team player with a positive attitude.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; BS/BA preferred.
• Experience: 1+ year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Skills and Competencies: Strong attention to detail; team-oriented; robust organizational and time management abilities; excellent data entry; strong written and oral communication; ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision; fluency in English.
• Physical & Time Requirements: Able to sit and stand for long periods of time; able to lift up to 50 lbs; flexible hours and overtime may be required.
