The overview: You will lead a team of chemists and engineers to successfully execute research projects within defined timelines and budgets while complying with company EHS guidelines and policies. You will pursue innovative projects and bring new know-how, technologies, products, and processes to the company.
Responsibilities
- Provide functional leadership for the lab team and manage workflow in the lab in collaboration with the team, coordinating activities in the pilot plant when needed.
- Monitor and document milestone progress, validate results, and coordinate transfer of outcomes to pilot plant, production, and other business units as necessary.
- Stay in close contact with scientific partners and operative units; continuously expand your own knowledge.
- Identify market trends and competitor activities (products, patents, literature) and recommend new products, projects, or applications within the innovation flow in cooperation with the project team.
- Define, initiate, and lead market- or customer-related projects and product developments; ensure compliance with working, safety, and environmental policies within your scope of responsibility; initiate endangerment assessments and implement necessary arrangements.
- Ensure acquisition, documentation, enhancement, and transfer of existing and developed knowledge to all levels; clarify technical, patent/legal, and economic assumptions within projects and process development in cooperation with the relevant unit.
- Work within the allocated budget and manage resources accordingly.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Chemistry (Organic Chemistry) with 1-2 years of postdoctoral research experience.
